How they make US feel........
Once I was helping cooridinate a big conference at IBM. I had lots of chores and one of them was to make name cards for the tables.

There were several late comers and one of them was a hispanic lady and one of them was a black lady. Even though several of the others were late as well as Olivia Rodriquez and Effie Hornbeck they were the only ones my boss had me hand write the names instead of print them out on the printer....... ASIF they were less than all the white men and women. hmmmmmmmmmm (It was very obvious and I wasn't the only one that noticed. The two I mentioned above were the only hand written names in the conference which had about 250 people.)

It's VERY funny how Big Business reveals their prejudices but you can bet that the two women mentioned above noticed.

I might ask that we ask Shirley to meet up with US on Blogtalk on Sunday and Friday nights with Theresa Edwards (Friday) and Michelle Vann (Sunday)????????? my2cents. (646-716-8675)

Shirley Sherrod for President in 2012!!! (Hey, you girls at 'The View' coffee cups with Shirley's picture PLEASE, eh? you know how important those cups are.)

Today on The View, Sherri Shepherd met up with a number of the AMC stars including Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake) and Vincent Irizarry (David) who are missing a number of their doctor props; Melissa Claire Egan (Annie) who is missing her one of a kind Agnes Nixon Tribute coffee mug, her good luck charm.

Hey George Lopez, Steven Colbert and Jon Steward YOU outta ask Shirley to be on your shows. hmmmmmmmmm

Watch the video that got Shirley Sherrod fired (43 minutes) and then shoot it round the world, k?

By now, you’re probably familiar with the name Andrew Breitbart. Andrew Breitbart posted the video of former USDA Director of Rural Development for Georgia on his website ‘Big Government’ on Monday. The video went viral and showed an edited clip where it appeared that Shirley Sherrod had admitted to using institutional racism against a white farmer during the height of the 80’s farm crisis.

Watch the edited and full Shirley Sherrod videos here

Fox News picked up the story and ran with it. Before long, the entire nation had tuned in to see the case of the racist black woman who boasted about discriminating against white farmers while speaking from an NAACP platform.

Hillary stopped hiding her racism, huh?

I wonder if it will even take 24 hours. This sh*t has gotten ridiculous. I was ‘confronted’ by a white woman at a local brunch place last weekend when she saw my non-whiteness and/or my Obama pin. She grilled me on whether or not I’d vote for Sen. Clinton if she got the nomination, and my answer (That I’d “vote”), mollified her.

I didn’t tell her that I had grave reservations about casting a vote for a candidate whose campaign has become more and more racist, and that I felt personally dissed by both Clinton and her surrogates. I didn’t need the grief.

But this seals the deal. I will be writing in Barack Obama if he doesn’t get the nomination. Let the accusations of my ruining big D democracy fly, but I will not do that to myself. I make too many damn compromises every day.

I am shocked that she has so much support from Black Women in powerful positions. Can someone please explain why that is?

[...] Jack and Jill Politics writes about race baiting that is still coming out of the Clinton camp, despite her total loss of a chance at the nomination. It makes me glad that my 7-year-old sister is still yelling “Boo, Hillary!” at a house in our neighborhood that has her signs on their lawn when we ride our bikes, despite New York having voted on Super Tuesday. Karnythia at The Angry Black Woman states her feelings on it plainly. [...]

Jeffrey Toobin: Clinton's Refusal To Concede "Deranged Narcissism"

The folks over at The Hotline put together a roundup of other pundits' reaction to Clinton's speech in New York City tonight:

"Well whatever that was, it wasn't a concession speech." -- FNC's Hume

"Clearly, she's trying to position herself, keep her options open." -- NBC's Russert, on HRC's speech (MSNBC).

"If I were Barack Obama, if I heard that speech, I would not be very happy. ... They are living in parallel universes right now." -- CNN's Borger.

"This was a defiant speech, against all the kind of advice that [heavyweights] within the Democratic Party gave her" -- Ex-WH adviser David Gergen, on whether he was surprised by Clinton's speech (CNN).

"She did everything but offer Obama the vice presidency" -- GOP strategist Alex Castellanos (CNN)

Narcissism full article
Instructions
Step 1
Narcissism is a personality disorder. It stems from childhood abuse. When children decide that the world, and the people in it, are bad and that they are good, they have a skewed vision of life. They see the whole world as revolving around them. They see others as objects to gratify their needs. They lack compassion for others. In general they are incapable of maintaining a healthy relationship because they have to be in control all of the time.

Often, narcissists are very charming in order to seduce people into liking them. Their ability to seduce people is amazing. They appear confident and therefore exciting. They want you to fall in love and bond with them so they can finally emerge as their true selves without being abandoned.

If you keep your eyes open, you can detect a narcissist's need for control and his or her self-centeredness. If you make a mistake they will be critical and unsympathetic. They will hold you to a high standard and exhibit disdain for what they consider weakness or vulnerability.

Step 2
Both men and women are narcissists. When it comes to relationships, they usually fear engulfment and they:

⋅ Fear losing their identity.
⋅ Fear dependency and avoid bonding.
⋅ Create rigid personality boundaries (won't let people in).
⋅ Are sensitive to everything that leads to bonding.
⋅ Lose interest in sex that leads to bonding.
⋅ Seduce and withhold to avoid bonding.
⋅ Minimize feelings that lead to bonding.
⋅ Get nervous when things go well or bonding occurs.
⋅ Pick fights and create uproars to avoid bonding.
⋅ Want more space or have to run.
⋅ Can't make a commitment.
⋅ Are indifferent to others.
⋅ Feel entitled to be taken care of their way.
⋅ Won't put up with discomfort.
⋅ Have complete control of the schedule.
⋅ Say to their partner "Just stay put while I come and go."

Step 3
Narcissists can be big trouble. O.J. Simpson was a narcissist. He had affairs and did want he wanted until Nicole divorced him and then he went nuts. While it may seem that narcissists are only men, this is not true. Many women narcissists seduce codependent men. There is really no difference between male and female narcissists. Female narcissists used to be called black widow spiders. The male narcissist is Don Juan or a Casanova. Women can also be as physically abusive as men. The most common toxic relationship is between the codependent and the narcissist. Opposites attract and nice people are vulnerable to charming narcissists. Be careful and try to see through the charm.

Narcissism, authoritarianism and the black community
EXCERPT:
Abstract:

Many African Americans prefer to seek help from their clergy rather than mental health professionals, regardless of the type or severity of the problem. Therefore, clergy play a big role in the mental and spiritual health of their congregants. Narcissism and authoritarianism may interfere with that role. The purpose of this study was to add to the scant research on these personality traits among African American seminarians. This investigation addressed the relationship between narcissism and authoritarianism, and differences by seminarians' gender, year of study, and religious vocation. The psychoanalytic theories of Kohut and Adorno provided the framework for this study. Seminarians ( N = 180) completed the Narcissistic Personality Inventory and Authoritarian Scale. A correlational cross-sectional survey study was used to examine these relationships. Narcissism was found to be significantly correlated with authoritarianism. MANOVAs yielded a significant gender difference in authoritarianism but not narcissism, and no significant difference in either trait by year of study or religious vocation. Results indicate a need for more rigorous study to further delineate these two personality traits, and to understand how they manifest differently in African Americans and in women vs. men. This study also implies a need for pre-screening of prospective seminarians, for providing psychological services geared to the clergy, and for making changes in seminary curricula. These recommendations can influence social change by improving the odds that African American clergy will be better positioned to effectively meet the needs of their churches and greater community.

African Americans in society (I liked this article as it gave me more insight into Black America/It seemed to say that African Americans turn more to clergy than medical, hmmmmmm

Prevalence rates of mental illness
Mental illness prevalence rates for African Americans in community-based studies are generally reported to be similar to rates in the white population (Sue & Chu 2003; Kessler et al., 1996), and in fact one study reports that rates for major depression are lower than in the general population (Brown DR et al., 1995). Yet, African Americans are frequently found among the most vulnerable population sub-groups: comprising 40% of the homeless, 50% of prisoners, and 45% of children in the foster care system. They are also the most frequent victims of serious violent crime (Surgeon General's Report, 1999) and may have been excluded from counts of people with mental illness (Williams & Jackson, 2000).
